How to Activate iHeartRadio on Your Device
What iHeartRadio is
iHeartRadio streams live radio stations, podcasts, and on-demand music in one app, with a free ad-supported tier and a paid All Access tier for offline listening and more control over playback.
Creating an account
Sign up at iheart.com (or directly in the app) with an email address, or connect an existing Google or Facebook account.
How activation works on TVs and streaming devices
The pattern is the same across TV platforms: install the iHeartRadio app, open it, and sign in if prompted. Most TV platforms then show you an activation code. On your phone or computer, go to iheart.com/activate, sign in, and enter the code — or scan the QR code shown next to it with your phone if that’s easier.
This covers Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, Samsung TV, Vizio TV, DirecTV, PlayStation, and Xbox. Smartwatches (Apple Watch, Garmin) work the same way, just using your phone or computer for the activation-code step.
Sonos is a bit different
In the Sonos app, add iHeartRadio from Music Services, choose “I Already Have an Account,” and sign in directly — no activation code involved.
