How to Activate A&E on Your Streaming Device
What A&E is
A&E’s streaming app carries its non-fiction lineup — true crime, documentaries, and originals — with some episodes free and others requiring your TV provider login to unlock.
Creating a profile
You can create a free A&E profile at aetv.com with an email address, which is enough to watch the freely-available content.
How activation works
Install the A&E app on your device, open it, and you’ll see a short activation code. On your phone or computer, go to aetv.com/activate, select your device type, choose your TV provider from the list, and enter the code, then sign in with your TV provider’s credentials.
Supported devices
Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung TV, and Xbox all use this flow (on some of these you’ll select “Others” as the device type). Chromecast works differently — cast directly from the app or from aetv.com in Chrome, no activation code needed.
If the code isn’t working
Double-check you typed it correctly, confirm your TV provider credentials are right, and if that doesn’t help, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.
Frequently asked
